All Nursery employees receive thorough training on commencing their employment covering subjects such as Health & Safety, security and Policies & Procedures. We also invite all new employees to a two-day induction that is held at Head Office and is a great opportunity to meet fellow colleagues from across the business. All staff receive First Aid training as part of the induction process.
Early Years Childcare encourages all employees to take advantage of relevant training opportunities. We also ensure that all training is delivered in a manner that takes into account different learning styles and needs. Our in-house training team and NVQ Centre offer extensive training courses on a wide range of subjects in order to meet the requirements of our employees.
NVQ qualifications
Early Years Childcare is a CACHE registered NVQ assessment centre accredited to provide NVQ qualifications and has many qualified and experienced Assessors to guide and support progression. We offer NVQ training as part of a modern apprenticeship while you work with us. You can study towards a Level 2 apprenticeship in Childcare or advanced apprenticeship Level 3 in Childcare.
The quality of our NVQ training has been recognised nationally in the receipt of the ‘Nursery Management Today’ award for best student/trainee in 2004 and 2005.
I have been with Early Years Childcare for just under 2 years now. Last year I won the company Student/Trainee of the Year award, of which I am very proud - but I could not have done it without all the support and help of the Training Centre staff.
The Training Centre at Early Years Childcare provides fantastic facilities for all trainees. The library is stocked with lots of very useful material on all childcare-related subjects, plus the NVQ centre staff were always happy to answer my queries and provide the support I needed.

"I started with EYC in 1991 as a nursery practitioner, gradually progressing through various nursery based roles including managing one of our Sussex nurseries for 5 years. My current role is at our head office, where I co-ordinate training for over 300 members of staff!"
"EYC really does value its employees, and invests time and money in developing their personal and professional skills. In order for staff to fulfil their personal goals, EYC treats all employees as individuals, and encourages them to take advantage of internal and external training opportunities."
